The Manassas Park Fire Department is joining Prince William County firefighters in the effort to collect items for Hurricane Sandy victims in New York who've lost everything. The City Fire Station (9080 Manassas Drive) is the collection point for donated items. People can drop of items in the Fire Station foyer (not in the clothes collection box in the parking lot). The items will be picked up Saturday morning (11/10) and delivered Sunday by Prince William County firefighters to a firehouse in Lower Manhattan.
Any donation is appreciated, however, among the most needed items are: blankets, baby formula, winter coats and clothes, diapers, cleaning supplies, toiletries, work gloves, heavy-duty garbage bags, soap, batteries, flashlights, non-perishable food, and first aid supplie.
