This housing development was what was originally "Manassas Park." The first homes sold for prices ranging from $7,000 and $7,200. Advertisements for these homes in the Journal Messenger Newspaper were directed toward veterans who were especially interested due to the fact that the 30-year mortgages only required a $43 per month payment and no down payment. By September of 1955, the Prince William County Board of Supervisors approved the construction of more homes, bringing the total number of units to 1,571.
Many of these original Cape Cod style homes have been remodeled rather than redeveloped in recent years thus helping to preserve the beloved original portion of Manassas Park that started this City.
The original development of Manassas Park can be reached by heading west on Manassas Drive until you reach the development.
