Senior Citizen Advisory Committee
Minutes from October 16, 2008

Costello Park Recreation Center
- Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by the Chairman, Norman Kimmey at 6:55 pm.
- Roll Call: The following were present at the meeting: Norman Kimmey, Jean Callahan, Diane Ward, Tasha Wright, Theresa Polk and Anna Treuting.
- Theresa Polk introduced Judy Crooks of Senior Navigator. Judy gave a very informative presentation on Senior Navigator and how it can assist individuals, groups, caregivers and family members.
- Approval of Minutes: A motion to approve the minutes was made by Jean Callahan. Anna Treuting made the second. The motion carried.
- Reports of Committees and Staff:
- Chairman’s Report: Norm shared his thoughts for the month.
- Parks and Recreation: Theresa read her report.
- Social Services: Tasha passed out brochures on senior exercises.
- Medical Programs: The program was successful and very informative. The level of detail given was wonderful. The brochure that laid out a person’s wishes was invaluable.
- High School Interface: There is no new information. A new recommendation needs to take place.
- Brainstorming: Norm will come up with questions that we will address in January,
- Voting Message: Theresa had Lana Conner put a message on cable about getting out to vote.
- Meeting Schedule: The schedule for November and December was discussed. Anna Treuting made the motion to not have meetings in November and December and to resume meeting in January. Diane Ward seconded the motion. The motion carried.
- Open Floor: Nothing
- Adjournment: A motion for adjournment was made by Anna Treuting at 8:00 pm. Jean Callahan made the second. The motion carried.
