Race Descriptions
General’s Ridge Challenge – 10 mile run (limited to 300 runners)
NOTE: You MUST reach the golf course within 25 minutes of the start (~ 1.5 miles).
There is an overall time limit of 2 hrs and 20 minutes to finish.
NOT for the faint of heart!!!! This run includes approximately 5 miles on cart paths of General’s Ridge Golf Course. There are some very steep (albeit relatively short) pitches both up and down that will leave your quads burning.
General’s Ridge Golf Course will delay tee-times until runners pass the first tee (thus the need to reach the golf course in the allowed time noted above).
General's Ridge Golf Course is recognized as one of the most unique, must-plays in the Washington, D.C., metro area. Nestled among a forest of oak, beech and poplar trees, this 18-hole championship adventure, 6,651 yards from the tips, rambles over rolling hills and spectacular scenery, producing thrills on every hole. A local TV station and Capital Golf Weekly even picked one of our holes as the toughest in the D.C. area – should you take on the challenge, you will likely agree – toughest to run.
Running on General’s Ridge Golf Course is NOT allowed except for this race – on race day ONLY.
Bloom’s Crossing 10-k
A 6.2 mile run through quiet residential neighborhoods of Bloom’s Crossing and around the new Manassas Park Upper Elementary School, past landmarks such as the Signal Hill Civil War monument and Camp Carondelet (Georgia Cemetery).
Signal Hill 5-k Run/Walk
Run hard for a PR, take an easy jog or walk with friends. This run will take you out and back on Manassas Drive in Bloom’s Crossing with a turn-around at General’s Ridge Golf Course.
1 Mile Park Trail Run
Takes place in Signal Hill Park – paved trails and road. Course TBD
Kids Fun Run
Short run in the Park(~ 200 – 400 yards). Course TBD

Strollers & Dogs
Running with strollers and/or dogs at any time is a potential hazard to everyone involved; especially while participating in a race However we desire to make these races as family friendly as possible. Race guidelines are as follows:
- Strollers and dogs will NOT be allowed in the 10 mile run.
- Running/walking with stroller/baby jogger will be allowed in the 10-k & 5-k races. You must start in the back of the race pack. Starting placement will not effect your race time as your timing chip does not activiate until you cross the starting line. You are responsible for maintaining control of your stroller and must be considerate of others around you at all times.
- FRIENDLY, WELL-BEHAVED, LEASHED dogs will be allowed in the 5-k only. You must start in the back of the race pack (we will have a special area). Starting placement will not effect your race time as your timing chip does not activiate until you cross the starting line. You must be considerate of those around you at all times.
- If ANY runner voices concerns with your pet, please move away IMMEDIATELY. The race staff reserves the right to remove anyone, at ANY time. Please note: If you are asked to leave the race, your registration fee will NOT be refunded..
Beneficiaries
All proceeds after expenses of the race go to support the City’s Fireworks Display.
