The Department accepts applications year round. As needed, the Department will establish an eligibility list for hiring after successful completion of a physical ability test, interview process and criminal history background and driving record check. Firefighter/EMT
Annual Starting Salary: $42,000
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent
Valid Drivers License
Virginia Firefighter I (minimum)
EVOC 3
Virginia EMT-B
Preferred Certifications:
Driver Pump Operator
Aerial Operator
Firefighter/EMT II (EMT-Intermediate/Paramedic)
Annual Starting Salary: $49,800 (actual hiring range DOQ)
ALS providers are eligible for additional incentives up to an $4,200 after their probationary period has ended and with the required certifications.

High School diploma or equivalent
Valid Drivers License
Virginia EMT-I or EMT-P
EVOC
Virginia Firefighter I (if not certified as a firefighter, required within 18 months of hire date)
